yes jeff I guess some people don't go on the board so these discussions really should be brought up at club practices, maybe more good ideas will be brought to attention

Negative feedback or not, these are our leaders. You have to take the good with the bad. If you cant handle a little backlash, why even run for a chair??? You cant be everybodies best friend all the time.

Yes they worked Jeff, Honing them out to a cone shape was hard to do. It created another problem, like the foam not being dense enough to support the tension of the material. The next step would have been to find a foam with a greater density, but I never went that far.

I've read through the posts and what i'd like people to be mindful of is that the impact of changes to weight classes WILL affect women differently than men. (I don't think i need to explain why, at this point, but i will if i'm asked to)
It is time to have a female representative on all tiers to ENSURE that the needs of female competitors are being considered and addressed.
I agree with several posts that we have the means to communicate (cyber) and unless we're willing to use those means (all involved) it is quite difficult to move forward. I don't know what the CAWF or the OAA have in store, as of yet, as i've not seen a platform from which i can plan my competitive year. I'm simply getting bits and pieces and soundbites from interpretations as people are trying to make sense of what will happen next. At the very least, there is a conversation happening here....

Are we saying that the poles should dictate whether or not a change must be made prior to agm motions or that agm motions are not being made by executives Chantal I also agree that at least conversations are being had!

I have just seen so many poles be wrong or at least not the case when it comes down to the crunch

That is a good point Kyle. I just read an article how like 90% of people polled would prefer a physical QWERTY keyboard phone(a couple year's ago I think it was)...turns out 90% of people chose phones with touch screen dispays - effectively killing the QWERTY market. My point is their extensive market research pointed to exactly opposite the REAL trend.
I would say for drastic changes like those being proposed (weight class reduction) be discussed as they have been on this forum and on facebook - but the final changes go through proper channels if possible. Yeah I'd say changes probably should be brought to the table at this year's AGM and voted on accordingly as set out in the constitution. If nothing is changed I hold little hope for improved Nationals in the future. If something gets changed at least there is a chance for improvement. The triple elimination thing would definitely be a nice one to push through for 2014 nationals, since it shouldn't have any negative consequences, and I've heard really no strong arguments from anybody against on any thread....I realise this is an exception to my previous logic.

Kyle,
What is happening is this board is being used to fire up the discussion, throw out ideas and concerns. Then the questions are sent to the Presidents and Executive for a vote.
