Perhaps moving forward, a post regarding the "minutes" of these executive meetings could be posted for the members to view???

The problem is that people will still lift their elbow off the pad no matter what you do to modify the elbow pad. So changing the rules is the only option if we are going to allow the elbows to lift. After this past Worlds I think that's the way we need to go. When we send out ballots for voting on new weight classes and triple elimination we can add a rule change for SMALL elbow pops. Might as well get as much done all at once. Then l'll push for that at Worlds.

Perhaps moving forward, a post regarding the "minutes" of these executive meetings could be posted for the members to view??? When I was Director of Communications I used to ask for these repeatedly. It at times would take months to get a response, if I ever did. Don't expect it to be any different until there is a new sectretary/treasurer. As a dues paying member of the CAWF I would expect that the minutes would be shared in a timely fashion.

I just want to say I am happy with how positive Joey's and Rick's communication has been on these topics - thanks guys! And I am a little disappointed that Fred and Lise don't want to contribute to conversation; even if it is just to argue points for keeping things the same. In Alberta for example, I believe Gord (the pres, my friend) is not in favour of reducing weight classes, but does not want to get embroiled in this debate - maybe to avoid the negativity? Either way I'd rather people say what they prefer as it flushes out the issues more completely.
Also Joey, that elbow pad idea is pretty much identical to what my idea was...glad you tried it, and so it didn't work? Maybe the pads are fine the way they are...yes with rule change tweaks to help the flow of the matches with less elbow fouls.

^^^ Not saying one is more right than the other Jeff, its just that elbow pads are going to be much more difficult to get universal. You may have one different than me, and someone may not have one at all? All I am suggesting is to TRY something. A rule is easy to try out. If no one likes it, we go back to what it was and try something else. I hate to say it but the "Majority" of pullers do not attend Worlds. We want to draw more pullers to the sport, so do we cater to WAF or the pullers? Just a thought.

Yes Guy - logic is pointing to trying a rule modification rather than changing the equipment (which would be a pain in the a$$!).

I believe Gord (the pres, my friend) is not in favour of reducing weight classes, but does not want to get embroiled in this debate - maybe to avoid the negativity? Just so long as Gord realizes that when it comes time to vote he is voting for his constituents, not himself. When we decide on these changes perhaps each province should put it to a vote first.

Yes, I've already put some polls on Alberta ARmwrestling on Facebook, and I'll compile Alberta armwrestlers votes together to see what people want. I just realized I'll need to run an email vote as well.
