I am completely unable to Hook. I feel uncomfortable doing it because I don't know what I should be doing and where I should be applying force and what direction I should be applying force. Anybody have some advice to help me that I can try next practice? I know my teammates will help me as well. I was just seeing if anybody on here could help as well.

I guess you didn't like the answer I gave you in the PM ... I am sure someone on here that uses the hook as their primary move will have some good advice for you.

The hook will show your weakness. The best thing is to just get stronger. The rest will come as you practice, as everyone is different.

The Best Thing I can Say Is Don't HOOK It's A Five Year Carrer . With Big Elbow Pain. And If You Get In a Bad Spot Your Arm Will (well you know) I have seen Six and most were in the HOOK. Number one Rule stay with what WORKs. ;D

You responded to it I thought... it was along the line of what Kehler just said. So pretty much, I have to teach myself how to do it by just doing it while not even knowing how my hand should be or what direction the pressure should be on the other guys hand

Do you mean to tell me that you don't know that in a hook that your wrist & hand should be hooked in towards yourself? You then drag your opponent towards you and the pin. Just don't make the mistake of turning away from it or trying to do a straight up bicep curl. You are attacking the other guy's arm, not his hand. Just practice and figure out which way this is strongest for you. When you practice don't just have a bunch of matches, but spot each other and learn the technique, and the variations, that work for you. Even if Tyrell could smoke you in a hook he should be able to tell you when you feel strongest when varying where the pressure is.
