This would never happen, I would keep my elbow on the pad and then pin you Joey. ;D

I agree with this. I think anything that improves our sport from a spectator standpoint should be at least looked into. I think this would be a good change for some events. I don't think it's viable for Provincial or National awing yet because WAF rules need to be applied but Pro events would see good results from this (imo). Would 2 running fouls still be a loss. EG. Jeff has me close to the pin line but gets a running foul and then pins me. We restart the match and the same thing happens again.. Does he lose the match? How do you explain that to the crowd? The same way you would explain why Jeff pinned you twice and his elbow came off a hair, (not viewable to crowd), and it was called two fouls and a loss. The crowd doesnt get these fouls at all. They cant see them, in some cases you cant see them even with a magnifying glass. At least with the running foul you get to watch some arm wrestling. Not refereeing.

I understand what your saying and I'm not for or against it yet.
I'm just trying to weight the two possibilities and decide if it is necessary to change the rules to accommodate the ones that can't keep their elbows on the pad.
Were already trying to make changes to the elbow pads.
I think were talking about the same hair whether it is a running foul or not. I no what your saying, it's still a foul but the match isn't stopped and the person without the foul still has a chance to win the match, with out it being stopped... no more intentional elbow fouls to stop the match and get a restart.

Perry Brumm(sp) always said play the game to its max for a win. I agree with Joey the crowd would not follow it.

From the spectator stand point, what is the difference between a match being stopped because of an elbow foul and restarted or seeing someone pin another guy but have the match restarted because there was an elbow foul sometime during the match that the crowd didn't see. The length of the match/tournament. Using running fouls is quite a bit quicker. The setup is generally the longest part of the entire match. If you are eliminating many of these (restarts) your tourney would run quicker.

How do you explain that to the crowd? - 2 runners are a loss yes - Jeff would lose in this scenario - It's fairly easy to point out that one guy fouled twice. Just my opinion but I've found that the crowd seems to follow along fine.

Yes Joey, we've done it at some small events in the Ottawa area. We also try to do our practices like this as well (just to get used to it).
As a ref it does take some getting used to because you're so used to calling a "Stop" as soon as you see a foul happen. It's an adjustment but of course can be done.
I like it. It's not a huge change but it's noticeable.

Combine running fouls with just a "GO" command and you have a winning combination.
