I think the Worlds positions need to be determined at Nationals, otherwise takes the power away from that tournament.
Also, if someone gets 3rd in the 105kg, I'm guessing that guy will get sh*%-stomped at Worlds, so who cares? lol. But I am serious.

I think many people dont want to go to worlds unless it happens in Canada itself.

If the weight classes are reduced a format like boxing at olympics can be adopted with best of three supermatches and matches of each weight class could be conducted with plenty of gaps in between , may be over the three days. Just my opinion

I think many people dont want to go to worlds unless it happens in Canada itself. I don't think this is true. I think a lot of people would like to attend Worlds, regardless of where the event is held. But for many, the time away, cost, etc. can be difficult to justify. Also, travelling across Canada is often no less expensive than travelling to Europe. I think if it was possible to make the Worlds a weekend event, rather than a week-long event, many more people would go.

Just my opinion Boxing in the Olympics are single elimination not round robin. And single elimination is brutal.

I meant many choose not to attend worlds in the present circumstances.

A single elimination with proper ranking as done in Olympic boxing is not bad if a best of three supermatch is done at each stage.

Not if your the 2nd ranked guy and you draw the #1 guy 1st But if they rank the players I think the rank 1 and 2 will meet only in finals as I believe

National championships and selection for the national team going for worlds can be done separately. National team selection will depend upon the player s availability and current form and fitness at the time of worlds. So the selection for national team for worlds can be a different one and this is done in many countries since tje date of nationals and worlds may be at different parts of the year. And player s form and fitness vary in different seasons of the year.
