I have a tournament this weekend so Ill start posting workouts after the tourny. My training has been pretty off and on but hopefully keeping a log will make me more consistant. If you guys see me slacking let me know. Should be fun!

3/14 Wednesday
Today I just messed around with a 3" dumbell that I just made and did some wrist curls with it. I love the feel of this big dumbell and will hit these hard after the tourney. It hits the wrist and hand very hard. Good movement and definitely a different feel then regular wrist curls or even wrist curls with a 2.5" bar. just did sets of 25 with 45 pounds. Felt like messing around since Im only pulling left handed this weekend.

3/23 ISG during the day at work 3" deadlifts 140 2xholds 2.5" rolling handle 115x2 2" barbell in rack 235 2xholds
3" barbell curls 65 2-3x20 brach rack work: partial hammer curls and then isolating the wrists. sets of 20-30.
Wrist still bothering me from the tournament. Ive got some new training ideas and am looking forward to implementing them. I posted my tournament results in another section. Hopefully next week I can get back on track and hit it hard. Ill try to lay out my workout plan for the next couple of months.

Matt thanks buddy I appreciate it. I just went light to get a pump and hopefully work the soreness out of my left wrist. Keep us posted on how practice goes.

Went to watch a few buddies compete at Brent Mikesells powerlifting meet. He had a gripper that had never been closed at any of the meets and I closed it in front of him. JIt was a #3 level gripper. It was cool finally meeting him and he was impressed. I think he still has the all time highest squat in history but Ive been away from powerlifting for a couple of years so who knows.
Training plan: Hand- My hand hasnt been as dominant as I thought it would be. Im certified on the ironmind #3 and while I think it helps me, Im still missing something. Im planning on doing alot more thick bar deadlifts a couple of times a wk and see if that helps. Im guessing a good supporting grip would help.
Wrist- This is probably my biggest weakness right now. My wrist curling strength is ok but my front levering strength is horrible weak. Ill definitely be doing alot of brach rack work with the weight out front as well as rotation work
Arm- I need to bring up my backpressure so alot of 2" barbell hammer curls and front wrist listed above. Also keep up the static regular curl work to strengthen my lock.
Monday Ill start training again. Any other ideas for my weaknesses send them my way.

I thought you didn't like hammer curls? Maybe do some heavy 3reps x 5 or 5reps x 5 reverse curls with the EZ-curl bar and some front levers? If you don't have a sledge hammer, a regular bar will do, as long as the weighted end has spin collars. The little spring collars will slide off. As for the #3, instead of just reps, try timed holds for a while. If that gets boring, hold it shut and then cock your wrist in (hook) and try to keep it shut. Axle deads and shrugs are a definite yes! Let us know how you do! ;D
