Are the weigh in numbers absolute? Or are you allowed any over weight for clothing etc?
I am currently 202 and trying to get to 198 for an upcoming tournament (1 week off) and was wondering how hard I have to either diet this week or water deplete the day of weigh in.

you can easily make weight. For Mike Goulds classic I dropped 11 pounds of water 3 hours before weighing in at 154. The next day I weighed 172 for the tournament. Of course It is easier on the kidneys if you just have salad for supper one week prior. Especially if you just need to lose 4 pounds.

Am I allowed to drop down to just my shorts while weighing in? Or do I have to leave my shoes and shirt on?

You can go all the way nude.

You can go all the way nude. I've seen them take people to the bathroom with the scale to make weight. Crazy.

There is no clothing allowance at weigh-ins. If you have to strip to make weight I hope your not shy about getting naked with a possible stranger.

Sit in a sauna wearing garbage bags.

I'll be driving 5 hours to get to the tournament the day of the weigh ins. I will not have access to a sauna. I was wondering how much weight I could expect to lose if I simply jogged in a heavy sweat suit combined with not eating or drinking that day. With the long drive I'm trying to leave as little to chance as possible (as I'd hate to get stuck AWing out of my proper class if I miss weight)
Thank you for suggestions.

Here is an idea then... drive with the heat on depending if you will have passengers. Sweat it out on the way.
