We for sure have to look at getting Gary up to film this event ... I know he had a good time last time he was up here ... not so far for him to travel as well.
Looks like we will get a Tug of War happening ... girl team, guys team ... mixed? Limit per team?
I think the girls are for it ... bikini contest ... although I heard they will do this only if Ryan come out and open the contest up wearing his "Thong Bikini" ;D

Vern... for the good of all humanity I will wear the thong just to make sure this event happens. ;D I have to hear some commitments from the women first though.
Vern can you ask Keith if he is willing to bring Gary up for the event? It really immortalizes his event and once it is on Arm TV I think a lot of people will watch and buy DVD's just to see what they can look forward to at the 2008 Worlds in Kelowna.
If Keith isn't interested in footing the bill then maybe we can all come together and do some nation wide fundraising to get Gary up here!

Ryan ... If Gary hears your going to wear a thong .... he will be here for nothing to get that on ArmTV!!! ;D I am sure we can work something out with Gary to get him up here for this event. I will see what needs to film this competition ... Gary might even give you a run for your money in the thong department! Alright ladies ... lets get your feedback on this ... will it take Ryan to wear a thong on the beach to get a bikini contest going?

Gentlemen,
Is this bikini contest a joke? I'm really, really hoping it is!
Please, I beg you, we need to keep arm wrestling family-oriented. No such association should make an appearance in this sport if arm wrestling is to improve its representation in the public eye. When you even begin to consider bikini contests, you are bringing arm wrestling right back to a place where the public has always thought it to be: a redneck, male-centric, hormone crazed, bar room brawl filled with women-hungry men who lack even a shred of decency. Do you really want that? You all are family man, I believe. Do you want men looking at your own precious daughters in the same way? Do want to raise sons with the same outlook of women?
At what point do we say enough is enough and demand something better, something that truly represents the challenge of arm wrestling, something that proves we are gentlemen? I think we have to start respecting women and their place in this world: we do that by admiring them for their skill, strength, and character -- not by having them display their bodies.
We also need to avoid any sensual contests and parties as an example to the rest of the world, to show them what we really think arm wrestling is about. Believe me, we show respect for this sport by taking the higher road. This is especially true if Gary is to be filming these events. Whatever happens in Canada will now be well televised and available to many nations.
I'm posting this because I'm really concerned about where this is headed come Canadians. I know you fellows are great people. I really want people to see that good side of you.
All the best,
John Reimer

Good points John... we are just kidding around... I think. Although I have seen some wild after parties on ARM TV.

Hold the bikini contest at the party afterwards, that's not really the kind of event to bring kids to anyways. For those that have kids they can bring them to watch the tournament, and then there is the adult only party afterwards. Nothing wrong with that.

John, I see your point.... and they're good ones... But take UFC for example.... ring girls.... the emphasis is placed on the fighting, but the ring girls draw alot of attention and sure get the crowd going... Females in bikinis doesnt mean it's not family oriented..... what's the difference if they're in a contest or walking around on the beach?? I don't think that represents us poorly at all... It's all in good fun... if at the after party, separate from the event itself, then whats the problem? people are people and fun is fun.... I'm not saying the girls have to get up there in bikinis if they don't want to... either way. but we're not showing any disrespect to them if they choose to... It's not like we're hiring strippers or something I don't know if its a serious idea or not... but thats just my opinion

I have always wanted to go to the Canadians just to watch if it would be OK with Canada if I did so. I will need to get permission from my boss first of course. I will only go though if there is a beach party with boats, tug of war and Ryan does not wear a thong.
