I did a bit of number crunching regarding the average number of entries per class at Nationals. Of the past six Nationals, this year's event had the highest average number of entries per class, when looking at only the Men's Open (Senior) Division. Here's how the numbers break out:
2009 Nationals (Summerside, PEI): 5.65 entries per class 2010 Nationals (Portage La Prairie, MB): 6.45 entries per class 2011 Nationals (Ottawa, ON): 7.95 entries per class 2012 Nationals (Vancouver, BC): 4 entries per class 2013 Nationals (Timmins, ON): 5.35 entries per class 2014 Nationals (Charlottetown, PEI): 7.07 entries per class
While there are many factors that can contribute to Nationals attendance, I feel confident that one of the objectives (more pullers per class) is being achieved. The weight class split was great. The only slight change I would like is a 78 kg class instead of a 77 kg class.
As far as triple elimination, it can result in many back-to-back matches. I know it happened to me a couple of times. But even though this has its drawbacks, I still prefer it to double elimination.

That would be good - fix the mistake to match Nemiroff.

I think I can fix the brackets to cut down on the back to back marches. Also next year when we hit quarter finals we'll move from class to class instead of going straight to finals. That should aleviate many of them.
