Great venue, great hotel, great competition.
Charlie, you are the man for stepping up last minute and putting on such a great show.
Triple elimination - AWESOME!! New weight categories - might need tweaking, but was a great move forward

Had a great time at my first Canadian Nationals.
Awesome tournament, I agree completely with will on all his points.
Was great to get some experience pulling the big boys, Earl and Ryan.
Thanks to everyone who helped put the tourney on!

thanks will, what did the other arm wrestlers think of the weight classes, did it seem like there was a different dynamic to the matches with wrestlers because of the weights?

Yes these nationals were awesome.. Thanks to everyone involved. One of the most convenient tournaments that I've been to, very close to the airport and my room was about 20 steps away from the tournament area. Just outside, 30 second walk was food (pita place) and another 10 second walk past that was the shoppers drug mart to grab waters for the room. Very easy location. What Will said... except he forgot to mention his epic battle where he was on the C side in the finals and nearly came back 3 in a row to win it.. What a battle!!!! Will you are the guru of this sport - I agree with all of your points. I've been around the arm wrestling scene for quite some time now but never took part in any involvements to the sport until just recently - 2 years (practices, tournaments, etc) a lot to do with injuries. But after this weekend and spending time with all you guys - I sure do love the comradery of the sport. So with that being said (lol) I do want to thank Charlie for hosting a marvellous "show" all the officiators (you know them all) and to you Dave Campbell - an outstanding individual, a very well deserved and a prestigious award that was (again agreeing w/ you Will) long overdue - the John Miazdzyk award. If I continue on, I'll just be paraphrasing you Will, so congrats to all competitors and spectators….Wtg #TeamNovaScotia #ArmWarriors follow @armwarriors Trevor Sanipass

Thank you Charlie McGeoghegan and the Nationals team for running an excellent Canadian Championship! Everything went smoothly and I thought the venue was perfect! A few of my observations about some of the pullers/performances: - Way to go Damien Luxon! Beating Shea Dickie with the left is an impressive feat – especially at 77 kg!
- Congratulations to Anthony Dall’Antonia for a record 10th consecutive left hand gold medal at Nationals! WOW! And in my opinion, the 86 kg was the most stacked class of the event. (And thanks for getting the results up so quickly on the CAWF site!)
- J-P Pare: beast strength! Great things are in this man’s future!
- Phenomenal performance by Mark MacPhail, winning a tough 105 kg class with no matches lasting more than a second!
- Earl Wilson definitely still has what it takes!
- Sarah Wilson's right-hand performance was amazing! She should go to Las Vegas on June 7th!
- And I’m probably happiest for my teammate Charles-Antoine Chartrand-Lefebvre, who won a right hand national title in his first attempt! Great determination!
Finally, congratulations to Dave Campbell for winning the John Miazdzyk Award and to Garth Carlson and Perry Bruhm for their inductions to the Hall of Fame! All very deserving!

Congrats to Shea Dickie - national champ! And I'd like to armwrestle this Damien Luxon guy...his left must be dynamite to beat Shea! Looking at the weight classes results, makes me generally like the new class breakdown - the classes looked great! That being said, I prefer the new Alberta weight classes after using them because they are much easier to remember when telling people, but are essentially the same at the nationals ones.
