For me - any tournament with other activities nearby. For example - Brockville Ribfest - what's better than armwrestling and food? Anything in Vegas is great. And Joey's tournaments at the Bradford Carrot Festival - took place in a boxing/wrestling ring set up in the intersection of the two main roads in the town! AW couldn't miss being seen by the hundreds (thousands?) that were there.

Good point, Hugh. I also really like the only event that I ever attended that took place in a shopping mall.

You'd love AW'ing in Alberta then Eric - we're usually in a shopping mall here.

Harley Pull for me was an incredible weekend with the event in the hotel surrounded by the rooms. It was a great weekend from start to finish with some of the top pros and ams in NA!

That WAS an amazing event. Hard to beat road trips like that. Next time though, maybe we don't invite the French guy.

Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission says the bar will lose their liquor license if there is any contact sport taking place. Yeah this sucks for options, but I'd take West Ed Mall any day over a bar. Other regular malls though...better for youth, but can be a cheezy atmosphere for aw'ing depending on how it's set-up and in what part of mall.

Kids Classes, I love seeing the kids compete, if there are some kids classes offered I am more likely to try and make that event.
Mark Zalepa always is a big supporter/promoter of the women and always has a great event. MGC, love this event nice to see some people from the US and other places attend this event. Mark Harrison hosted a great Event at the WEM, although there was only an open womens class, there were 6 women which made me happy. It was a nice change to have the event in a mall, there were lots of spectators lingering around asking questions. I prefer attending events that are not in a bar, but I understand that this is not always possible.

I agree with Ashley, I personally am not a big fan of the bar for a venue (to exclusive for children and families and they are important for the sport!) - that being said, I still had a blast at Kayne's events in Sask in the bars.
