First of all Lori, dial down your dramatic effect. Cutting a few women's classes and comparing it to me (154) pulling 6 classes higher to qualify for worlds is a weak attempt at logic. Second of all, I ll voice my option anywhere & anytime I want.
However.. Your assumption is accurate Lori. If it was truly for the greater good of the sport, I would gain weight, get stronger and "adapt" to survive in the sport I love.
If my opinion is truly "damaging" to the survival of women's armwrestling, what does that say to the fragile state of women's arm wrestling?? In all actuality it is the selfish approach or self serving attitude, masked behind a false sense of nobility that will damage this sport. Spend less time judging my comments (in which I am Intitled to) and more time looking in the mirror.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. You've had your say and I've stated mine. That's it and That's all. I agree your accomplishments are amazing and I am in no way trying to be dramatic or whine. What we are interested in and what we need are some good and helpful ideas on how to work around these new proposed issues for men's and women's weight classes. With constructive input I am sure we can come to a resolve that is fair and that will work for all. I think Joey's proposed classes will work but if they are looking for about 8 competitors in each class I was thinking maybe we could even combine the 60 & 70 classes and the 80 & 80+ classes. This would give approx. 7 - 9 women in left and right hands. Just putting another thought out there as a possiblity.

If they were cut to just 3 I still think a 185lbs class should be offered. As the Arnold's only cater to this as a maximum it would be nice to build up this class and have a prodominant middle weight class here in Canada. There is a lot of ladies who can't make 143lbs and end up having to pull with the 143lbs+ class. There are a few ladies left that still thrive or would thrive in a 185lbs class.

IMO triple elimination and a " pull off" is a stupid idea when it would only be our Nationals around the world doing this. Really why make this more complicated. Don't get me wrong triple elimination at regular tourneys I'm sure are great.. I've yet to compete that way.. But at a nationals... No. And certainly not a pull off after competing at the nationals .. There is always a little man syndrome out there who has a big mouth and a poor attitude.

Tamara, a pull off would only happen if 3 people all wanted to Worlds in one particular class. It would be 1 match between the bottom 2 and only if both of those 2 finished outside the top 3. For example if you and Lori and Ashley all wanted to go to Worlds to compete at 65kg and you are all pulling 70kg. If you finish 2nd in the 70kg you are in. Then between Lori and Ashley if they finished 5th and 6th they would pull one match and winner gets that spot. However if you get 2nd and Lori 3rd then Ashley would be out.No pull off. At Worlds now they have 1 final pull to determine who gets 5th. We use to do that years ago. It gets rid of luck of the draw whether you were at the top or bottom of the draw. We can work out all the minor details before Nationals. First it will depend on whether the classes get passed and or triple elimination gets passed.

Rick I think we should work on doing that again anyway. They are doing it at worlds and like you said we used to do it. It would be good for people to have a better idea of where they placed.

Has there been a final decision on this topic ? I had only competed, in 3 sanctioned tourneys in 2011 and attended the nationals that year, as an Ont resident. I have now moved to MB and have decided to compete again this year. 1 . for the love of the sport. 2 .I can afford to this year 3. Have trained hard to do so. 4. My job allows me too. When I did attend Nationals in 2011 I had won by default as I had no other competitors in my class. with a $3000 travel bill and will again this year to travel to Nationals, and also have to drive 700km to compete for provincials. So yes I am dedicated !! I have never pulled before competing in 2011 and like most women didn't know I could, as it was never promoted as a women's sport. Many thanks go out to everyone who welcomed me when attending these events. I weigh in at 63kg so does this mean I can compete in the 60kg or is it up to 60kg and have to compete in 70kg if the changes are made? confused as most tourneys are run by Lbs. I will most definitely be competing at Nationals this year, so would like to know what I am up against.

And yes, it's an "up to" 60 kg class, so if you weigh in at 63 kg you would need to pull in the 70 kg class.
