At least one Canadian has/will be competing at the Worlds without competing in the Nationals. How is this possible? I didn't know byes were possible to get to the Worlds. Was there a charge for this (besides maybe paying the equivalent of the Nationals entry fees)?

That's a really good point Hugh, member should at least contribute entry fees to the classes they were supposed to pull at Nats

I thought they always offered spots that were vacant if no Nationals pullers took them.
ie. Tokyo 2005 there were open spots (I think the nationals were in Quebec that year) I didn't attend nationals but was told I could fill the spot for worlds

I think Hugh is talking about the senior Grandmasters position ? I think that position isnt offered at nationals so is reserved for Pullers over 60 to represent Canada ??

Even if there is no senior grand masters at the Nats ,there still is a class for them to pull. After Tokyo they changed that rule where you had to go to the Nationals to compete at the Worlds.. Like John said WTF
