What's the latest on the 2014 Nationals? Has a host/location been determined?

No one put a bid in for it. Joanne offered to host it again.

So is this confirmed? 2014 Nationals will be in Timmins over Victoria Day weekend?

What happened to Saskatchewan?
Does that mean the West is free to bid on 2015?

I would love to see it in Saskatchewan again, Moose Jaw was amazing. That was easily the best nat's i have been to for Venue, hotel, caliber of pullers, location(city in general), after party and the organization of the event was perfect, flawless.

To be honest, I am worried about the sponsorship requirements to put on a nationals when the revenue from entry fees is roughly $8000, but the historical cost is >$20,000. Or else the entry fee needs to be increased to $100-$120/arm, so we can at least reduce the stress on the organizer. This is a pay-to-play setup.

I also see the benefit to having nationals in the same place every year, so sponsors can get on board for a regular basis. Every year organizers must start from scratch when it moves around all the time.
Since most of the population is out East - I wouldn't mind if it was in Ottawa every year, or even if we said it is in Winnipeg every year, since that would be meeting in the middle.
