Good for side pressure... not much else. IMO no better than a pulley system.

Mat get a hold of aaron angel and see if he still has the gizmo I sold him in PA. It attaches to the side of the table and you use surgical tubing to simulate the different pressures.

That + strength/speed = INJURY. Certainly not the device I would use. The more I read up on side pressure, the less I want to armwrestle and I'm sure alot of armwrestlers feel the same way also!

Mat, - I like how it's simple and gives you resistance upward when you have the pinning position, as well as when you begin.
- I don't like the long lever arm causing the weight to travel fast, building momentum, and tearing your arm if you aren't very careful.
Tim, I haven't read much about side pressure, but I found Devon Larratt's advice pretty interesting about only using side pressure once you have control of the position in a match (so you don't max out the side pressure and your elbow joint).
Luckily it seems like the muscles give out before the elbow pops when stressed with side pressure, unless you turn away from your hand.
I could see more of a danger if you armwrestle very tight to your body (hand by the chest) so the rotator cuff can hold the arm strong enough to the break the elbow. Even this injury seems unlikely unless you turn away from your hand.

i dont like it at all.. if someone with alot of strength used it and broke it, could do some serious damage to their arm
