Name (First+Last): Jeff Miller
Age or Birthday: 1978
Profession: Structural Engineer
Height: 5'-10"
Biceps size: 15"
Forearm size: 13"
Location (City/Province/state): Edmonton, Alberta
Armwrestling Titles: None
Who do you train with/Team name: Edmonton Extreme Armwrestling Association
Year you started pulling: March, 2006
Weight you compete at: 187 lbs or 176 lbs at nationals
Favorite Pulling style:
Toughest Match you've pulled: Too many butt-whoopin's to remember, probably Kelly Leitch at Stony Plain 2011 - close battle, but he got me.
Favorite tournament you've attended: 2011 Nationals in Ottawa - nationals is always a blast, and I'm finally having some good matches at this level.
Supplements Used: Omega 3-6-9, Vitamin D
Favorite Puller/or somebody you look up to in the sport:
Tony Senger - I know he's a retired legend, but this guy is a freak of nature in a good way; weird wide open pulling style, uses muscle more than joints and still beat everybody bad.
I also really like the way some of the overseas guys pull lately in 2011; Rustam Babyev (Ukraine) and Dzambolat Tsoriev (Russia) use some awesome power in their matches.
How often do you train: Armwrestling practice once per week, if I'm getting ready for a big tournament cable pulls and weight training couple times per week.
Training tips: Armwrestling practice once a week seems right to me, and arms don't hurt too much anymore. Also, don't armwrestle hard 2-3 days after a tournament; I'm pay the price in nagging injury every time!
Goal(s): To win Alberta Provincials, Nationals one day, and to beat Lee Saitz into oblivion!
Sponsor(s): None
Anything you would like to add/statements/comments:
It is great training in the Edmonton club when everyone shows. There are some awesome armwrestlers in the area (Ron Highet, Brian Manson, Mark Harrison, Del Mudryk, Laura Webb to name a few) have a lot of things to teach new people - and of course it's a great workout while having lots of fun!
