I have been doing some rope pullups and towel pullups from time to time but after reading some stuff by Ross Enamait I decided to order a short piece of 2" rope from Mcmaster.com...This was a totally different animal then using a smaller rope or even a thick towel. These are very very tough and killer on the grip and forearms. I would recomend getting some. I couldnt believe how much my pullup performance dropped when using the thick rope. Pick some up!

I drape the rope over my power rack...Another tip that I picked up from Kehler is to turn my hands and wrists in somewhat at the top, similar to the feel of a hook.
