This is probably a strange question but what are the advantages of wrapping a leg on a table post? I have also seen people do leg presses on the side of the table post. Does this really help or is it more of a comfort thing?

Does this really help or is it more of a comfort thing? I've done that before, where you get your foot up on the leg and "Leg press" It's only if my positioning is just right though, but sometimes I can get my arm and body locked right up and the press through it. Not something I use lots though. I have also seen some of the greats use it too, LIke I've seen Todd Hutchings do it.

I suppose it might be advantageous if the match goes your way and you dont have to re-adjust anything.
Conversely, if you have to adjust to a more defensive position it must take longer to make the necessary movements.
You might be giving away your chosen technique as well... if you cared that your opponent knows what you are about to do.
