I know this has been discussed in the past but I thought I would resurrect it again out of boredom. I keep reading posts about Russian pullers doing over 200 pounds on a partial preacher curl and similar weights on a partial wrist curl. Every pic Ive seen online shows weights closer to 100 pounds and usually less. What are top pullers doing realisticly on these exercises? If a top superheavyweight like Ryan is doing 140 or so I cant see how someone is doing over 200 pounds.
Ryan do you have any pics of you using 140 pounds? I believe you 100% but it would be cool seeing a legit pic of some heavy preacher curls.

I've hammer curled 120 for 3 reps with each hand (standing - one arm at a time). I normally stay in the 105 range, for 5x5. None of these were on a preacher curl. The weight would be much lower I would suspect.

That is a good hammer curl. What do you weigh?

Right now... TOO MUCH. 6 foot 0 inches, 325 and "trimming". I would like to get down to 250 and keep my strength and muscle but I may lose some of both, in the name of health. ;D

Had a good night tonight, despite a touch of tennis elbow in my right elbow. It has been nagging me for 3-4 weeks now, off and on. I made the mistake of doing sledge work, the day after a heavy hammer/biceps day. Gotta train a bit smarter, when you're sore. ;D
WED 07 MAR 07
Back/Biceps day today.
Front Lat Pulldowns (Wide Underhand Grip) 5 sets of 5 reps @ 310 pounds. **Rest was 2.5 minutes between sets.**
Front Lat Pulldowns (Narrow Parallel Grip) 5 sets of 3 reps @ 310 pounds. **Rest was 2 minutes between sets.**
Dumbell Hammer Curl 1 sets of 3 reps @ 105 pounds. 1 sets of 3 reps @ 110 pounds. 1 sets of 3 reps @ 115 pounds. 1 sets of 3 reps @ 120 pounds. 1 sets of 3 reps @ 125 pounds. **Rest was 2 minutes between sets.**
125 was easy for my left and I think I could have gotten to 140, but my right elbow started to sting at about 115, so I thought better of going past 125.

Austin;
When I was training hard with Patrick Rehill about 10 years ago I used to do warm up partial one-handed wrist curls with 220lbs 3 sets of 8. The most I curled was 2 sets of 3 with 350 lbs...no kidding, the gym were I was were doing them have the pictures.

When I was really into training quite a few years back I was doing wrist curl full range reps with 135 lbs for 27 reps. Two handed barbell. Now I might get it 20 times or so. I did a 1 rep max of 210 lbs full range as well. I'm not sure what I'd be at now but I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 185-190 lbs for one full range rep (wrist curl). That number is climbing all the time as I'm getting healthy and training hard. I'm gonna have to hit the gym on Monday and verify these numbers

Matthew.
There is no reason or need to train with tennis elbow. It is a problem that can be fixed (but only with therapy). I really doubt that it will go away on its own. Take the time to get it fixed man.. you will be happy that you did.

I have noticed from these boards that most AW's are injured in some way... ;D
