I was at home depot the other day picking up some items and I happened to see some 3 foot long 5" diameter PVC tubing for like $5.00. So I picked that up and some thin rope and a gym bag style hook that you could hook your keys to. I drilled a hole in the PVC and ran a rope into it and tied a Knot so it couldn't pull out. Then I cut the rope to like 4.5' long and put the hook on the other end. Then I can put the hook through weights and hook the hook back onto the rope. Then I roll the PVC up then down (repeat) holding the PVC from the top so that I'm using my fingers to hang onto the PVS an using my wrists and forearms to roll the weight up and down. All in all it cost like $15.00 and seems to do wonders for my wrist and forearm strength. I will post pics of it when I get home as I can understand that my write-up might be a bit confusing Just an idea for some people out there.

Sounds like a basic wrist roller. I use one and it is a good piece of equipment that is cheap and easy to build. Ironminds... way overpriced as usual at $56 US when your $15 version is perfectly fine.

nice job!! I find pvc too slippery though. This will really work your forearm. Are you doing this free standing? You should slide the pvc through a barbell or something so you tax your forearms instead of your shoulders.

Thanks man. Yes, I do them free standing while holding it away from my body a bit so that I have to use my fingers to hang onto the top of the PVC while I roll it up and down. I haven't had any problems with the PVC being too slippery until I get to the point where my fingers just can't hang on anymore. Truthfully it doesn't bug my shoulders at all but I have pretty good shoulders though from bodybuilding.

Wrist rollers with a thick bar in the 3"-4"+ range are totally different then wrist rollers with a 2" diamater or smaller. Seem to work the hand very well. I also like to do them with my arms down, standing on a bench.

I slid a 2" pipe over the end of my smith machine to blast the forearms, I find too that it hits the shoulders too much to hold your arms straight from your body, althrough just hanging your arms down works well also. I started doing this excerise again after a long hiatus (no real reason for stopping) at the end of my forearm workout, if the pump in my forearms after doing this is any indication of results it should be good I'm going to try the bigger (3") pipe. Thanks Austin.
