I don't use grippers for anything but warm up or high rep stuff but do use a finger blaster.

Where do you get a finger blaster from? How much do they run for price?

Usually they are home made. I am sure ironmind or some company sells them but it will probably cost you about a 1/10 of the price to get a welder to make you one.

the one from Ironmind (go really grip machine) is super expensive, and shipping doubles it.....
I got mine made... total cost around $60 for materials/welding and so forth

Actually I just recently got into the heavy hand grippers myself. I have the #1 and #2 COC and I just got the full set of heavy grippers for the package deal ($60.00 US) plus shipping. The 300HG is less than 1/4 inch from being closed apparently if I close that one and video tape it, I'll be a "King Gripper" ... cool huh? I think it is similar to the #3 COC certification. One thing I found was when you start training with these it doesn't really take that long to make gains in closing heavier tensioned grippers or improving your reps. I could only close the #2 COC maybe 2-3 times 8 weeks ago now I'm closing it for 10 reps. I think that's not too bad... anyways something to play around with at work when I'm in the office and to tell you the truth they are a little addictive. They do strengthen your hand so I'm sure it helps arm wrestling to some degree, however it is a crushing grip strength which comes into play differently when arm wrestling. I think Mark Harrison would be the guy to talk about this he closed the COC #3 quite a while ago, as well Louis Brassard closes it, who also has wicked strong hands.

Here is a picture of the Ironmind one... a $229.95 US price tag for about $10 worth of steel. I think I paid $50 for one that has the inner frame welded and the one is slides over is made of plumbing pipe & elbows.
