I never did follow the "Carbs" things, nor have I read up on it, but does anyone have suggestions as to losing the last few pounds before a tournament?

Gilles, I told you exactly what to do.... I gave you like 3 suggestions. You don't have to use the sauna if you can't.. you can drop it through diet.
It doesnt get any more clear... I even further explained what I told you when we were at the theater...
Someone isn't likely to come on here with a magic secret that you don't know about.

I wasn't looking for a magic pill. Ryan thought it would be a good question to ask on the board so if others had similar questions, the advice you gave me at the theatre could help them as well. I am following your advice and just a day or two later, it seems I have lost a pound or two. I just can't work out on a treadmill or anything like that this week because of my heart procedure on Tuesday. The cutting of the head thing, well, that is the very last thing I'd be trying, ... ever. Thanks, but I think I'll pass on that ... maybe next year.

Gilles.
How many pounds away from 198 are you? Just not eating or drinking on the Friday of weigh-ins might be enough.

I'm stuck at 210. I'm not very well educated about carbs, but I am now trying to shy away from breads, potatoes, noodles, grains and sticking to some meat, veggies, fruits etc... don't know if peanut butter is bad and have lots of questions as to what is permissible. I haven't really worked out hard or consistent since the break in Oct.'05, so I want to make sure I have enough strength to pull decently. I can't seem to pull well left. I fluked a few wins left, but not typical. Anyway, I can resume working out Sunday, I'll do lots of cardio, no weights, eat well, less and try the steam room Friday before weigh ins. Seem do-able?

don't stop lifting
Fruit = fructose = sugar = a ton of simple carbs... no good
peanut butter is ok as long as it's natural (smooth/processed has lots of icing sugar)
