There is a debate raging over on another board... what is more important both in promoting a tournament and promoting the sport?

I agree Rick ...TV coverage is what brings a spotlight to any sport. Whenever we have had local cable coverage people I know always make a big deal of it ..." I saw you on TV last sunday night" or something to that effect. They don't say "I heard you won $500.00 bucks". It seems you do have to have $$$ to bring out the big names in the sport, I realize the cost of traveling. However, to allow this sport to grow we do need the young kids at home watching the tounaments from the comfort of their living room. It perks their interest .....from that you get participation.

Righto Mark. I remember watching armwrestling coming from Ontario on Wild World of Sport wishing I could be there to try that. Tony Senger, John Miazdzyk and Big Bert were all some of the guys I watched. I never expected at that time I would be where I am today, you know, on that same path as Rick Pinkney, with the flower petals and adulations coming steady.
