I hate doing hammer curls for some reason. My question is this, can someone increase backpressure by doing reverse curls alone for the brach muscles? What are your guys thoughts on this?

It is all relative to the position you want to be in on the table. I do my reverse curls with an EZ curl bar.

Ryan,
are the reverse curls partials or full range?

Makes sense. Ive gone to more 3/4 range of motion work lately as well and I like it. What kind of weights are you hitting on the reverse curls? Ill give the ex rev. curls a shot as they seem to mimic how I pull outside. I love thick bar reverse curls though so will probably alternate them. Thanks again buddy,
Austin

Right now... not very heavy as my left wrist still bugs me... 125 lbs or so... higher reps and at the end of the workout.

125 for higher reps is very impressive. Hate to see what you do when healthy. Are these on a preacher or standing?

These I do standing. The preacher bench just feels like an awkward angle when I do these.

I like to use the EZ curl bar for reverse curls as well. I find it puts my wrists in a more comfortable position. I've done these both standing and on a preacher and like them both so I try to alternate.
As for hammers, I really think these can help your backpressure alot. I think these very closely mimic the movement of a high driving post and have found my strength improvements here translate well to the table. I have not found a comforatable way to do these on a preacher so I do these standing mostly and occasionally sitting.
Even though you dont like doing them.. unless they cause you pain I'd tough them out. I try to do full range movements mostly but I do occasionally bang out some heavy partials (very well warmed up though)
