Just watched the first episode of "Games of Arms". I am very pleased that arm wrestling is getting that kind of exposure. However personally I feel the depiction of arm wrestling has taken the organized sport back 20 years by showing it is an aggressive, fist punching, beer drinking sport which takes place in warehouses, etc. Is this REALLY what arm wrestling is about?? I think NOT !!
Just my opinion and may not be yours.

I understand we would like to have the "prime" moments in our sport glorified but the truth of the matter is for me at least, I can think of many moments like in the shows than not. Bar room pulling, people smashing tables on a big win, so on. Yes the comraderie card. It is there in spades, usually away from the table, on the table its nutse storm time. But the camera is focused on the table, inches away with the tenacity the main focus. I like it! I like it all, the Get real moments and the UAL professional moments. Its all good and I am glad to be in the sport at this time!!

I agree totally Guy. There has never been a better time for armwrestling. With whats going on with the UAL and the exposer the sport is getting from the reality show there is more interest and opportunity than ever in the sport. Its all very good.

You guys are right, armwrestling is getting more attention then it's ever got, with the exception of short while after "Over the Top" came out. Now it's up to us to make the most of this. We need to beat on the doors of the media to say look at us, this is what we're about. We have "Game of Arms" going on everywhere.

When Bill Logsdon was on the All nation radio show, he said something about they teams meeting up a week out to discuss who is pulling who. So i think they may have some say in picking them(the pullers)

I think the show is still good exposure for armwrestling, but I think it takes the stock down of some of the athletes; showing Don Underwood crush Craig Tullier, or Dave Chaffee smash Kenny Hughes - silly, pointless size mismatches. But I did find Cobra vs that big guy interesting, and Ethan Fritse did destroy the giant Turbo guy, so some sometimes it works, sometimes not. Felt bad for Allen Fisher getting screwed over by the garbage reffing, where the 215lber cheated horribly to beat him (and then got pissed off?) weird.
