Not sure why you think elbows off the edge are a bad idea. You have 49 sq in for your elbow, that should be sufficient.

I think that is what he is saying Rick. It should be called. Think you might have interpreted it wrong if you mean Jeff. I like it Jeff!!!

Sorry Rick I wasn't clear - so I added an edit. What I meant was I hate fouls off the sides NOT getting called.

To stop multiple hops in a match, what if you had a three strikes your foul rule. Each (hop) the ref seeing it could indicate "one hop" (shirt or team), two hops, stop one foul? Might be a bit too much but might stop the thought of someone bouncing like a ball for the entire match. Each warning the person elbow hopping is made aware they are creating clearance and a chance to stop it before foul is called? Just a thought.

Huh? Ok maybe hops is not a great term. Just trying to get my point out. I prefer my hops in Mad Toms cans!

I've also been disappointed by elbow fouls, I'd prefer keeping in line with the recommendations made by WAF on this one. The problem i foresee is that getting "used" to running fouls then suddenly your at the World's and it no longer applies ... there's room for error there. And you can tell yourself to NOT elbow foul all day but your body's memory may not care. It's like allowing for elbow to lift during practice... keeping your elbow down is part of that practice. You can't tell me that NO ONE enjoyed D.L getting an elbow foul on Joe or Mike this past tournament lol.
I get the frustration though.... but for those who want to keep competing at the World's, doesn't it make sense to keep the rules as similar as possible? This is the Nats, not Armwars or the Armmelter series.... (not to impune on their rules or quality of tables or reffing, but if you compete there, you know what your getting into)

Nice idea, if u bump your elbow once, the ref tells you, if it happens again, he fouls you and resets the match. Thoughts?

Yeah, treat the bumps like a warning, 2 warnings = foul.
