As voted on at the exec. meeting... for Prov...
Men's Right & Left 0-154, 155-176, 177-198, 199-220, 221 & over.
Women's Right & Left 0-154, 155 & over.
The women's class was a subject of debate and in the end the ladies voiced what class they wanted and that is what they chose.
If enough people are interested in seeing the meeting minutes I will post them here.

Wow. Nobody told me about that. Good thing I'm outta here! I don't think I could sweat down to 220lbs...

Well... that is one thing we will look at changing. I like all the classes except the 221... it should be changed to 242.

They originally got changed in 2004 as a lead up to mirror the classes at nationals being held in Portage... they just stuck for a few years afterwards.

Shane... not to be an ass... but its true. Everyone was informed of the meeting via mailer, website, email, or poster.
We had too many classes this year. There should be 8 per class. We are just mirroring what many other provinces are already doing.

I agree that is why I pulled so many classes, it's not a whole lot of fun to go and only pull the same 4 or 5 guys.

Glad you agree Rob. I think this will be a good thing. We will have the same amount of money next year from the venue. Imagine how nice the awards will be with less classes.
There is also the possibility of the MAWA supporting some of its athletes to travel to Nationals. Of course for this to happen we need to do more than just break even after our provincials each year. We did that this year slightly... but not enough to be buying plane tickets or hotel rooms quite yet.
