myself still a student in aw ing techniques. i feel that learning the proper feet placement and suitable leg movements while applying different aw techniques will have great influence in the results over the table...
if some of the experts share their ideas in this regard ,it would be very helpful for the beginners ..

Dixon ur not gonna get many answers to this simply because ur giving this "technique" too much merit. Do u think foot position will help u vs ANY PULLER that is 5-10% stronger than you? The answer is NO. Much like ur poll last yr on weather chewing gum can increase success rate during competition. The reality to ur initial question is simple. As a pullers table strength increase's and his aw IQ evolves.. He will find a natural position for his feet in conjuction with his individual aw mechanics specific technique. U should be asking more relevant questions, like how to increase aw specific strength.

U should be asking more relevant questions, like how to increase aw specific strength. Chris , u are going away from the topic. first of all chewing gum was discussed on its relevance in increasing focus at the starting set up and whether it can increase the reflexes at the go. unfortunately many of u people were coming up with redicule because u didnt know the question. the question had some thing related to reinforcement maneuvers used by neurophysicians. now regarding foot work of armwrestling ... see i am asking about how a beginner aw er is taught to keep his legs in various techniques to get maximum results.. and learning by his own experience may take years than someone teach them, imo. And asking the beginners to wait patiently and learn by ur failures and experiences is one phenomenon that causes many beginners leave the sports early ...so i firmly believe the topic is relevant . there are articles on 'foot work' in cricket. may be also present in base ball and tennis too . boxing ,fencing, shot put ,hammer throw all teach foot work...all those games are played with hands and not with foot. bad foot work is considered poor basics in those items ...i hope for many more replies and a cheerful discussion rather than a fight ...

Dixon all the sports you mentioned have a much larger lower body component than armwrestling.
The basic position I teach someone new is to put the leg forward that corresponds with the armwrestling arm i.e. left for left, right for right. What generally happens is that newer armwrestlers stray away from this quickly as they find positions that are more comfortable and suited to their style of armwrestling.
There are much more relevant topics as this one is almost an accessory... basically what I am saying is that if you are getting destroyed on the table, foot position is not going to change the outcome of that match.
